Faceted Browsers

I

Updates:

  • The browsers are slowly becoming usable. Today, we added hooks for basic faceted navigation. Simply click on the little SemSol (sun) icons left to the entry values and an option menu to add or remove filters will appear. Additionally (or alternatively), you can use the search box for fulltext search.

Browser Prototypes for Posts, Persons, and Software

C

Updates:

  • Existing DOAP files can now be added to the public store.
  • Existing RSS 1.0 feed files are supported as well
  • FOAF files can be loaded, too
  • We started implementing the browsers. Well, the search doesn't work yet and even the pagination isn't implemented, but at least it's possible to (partly) see what's in the public store already.

Software Project Editor, RDF export, 303s

S

Updates:

  • The editor for software descriptions is working now. No import of existing DOAP files yet, but local descriptions can be exported and added to the public store.
  • The platform now supports 303-redirects to correctly handle requests for slash-URIs.

New Navigation Structure and First Editor

R

Updates:

  • The main navigation items were adjusted to be labelled more consistently.
  • The interesting update however happened in the new "Create" section where I activated a first prototype of an editor for software descriptions. It's not very rewarding yet as there is no RDF export or anything useful that can be done with the created descriptions, but that'll change soon.

RDFer.com - Hello World

T
Today, I activated the RDFer.com site. It is still a bit empty at the moment, but this will hopefully change soon. I wrote a little introduction about what we try to achieve, set up this site blog to report about development progress, and there is already a first article available in the SemWeb Kitchen, which illustrates the basic motivation behind the Semantic Web idea: Data - Information - Knowledge.

At least weekly updates should follow from now on.

Which features would you like to see implemented? Please send us your ideas via the comment form below.
