RDFer.com - Hello World

T
Today, I activated the RDFer.com site. It is still a bit empty at the moment, but this will hopefully change soon. I wrote a little introduction about what we try to achieve, set up this site blog to report about development progress, and there is already a first article available in the SemWeb Kitchen, which illustrates the basic motivation behind the Semantic Web idea: Data - Information - Knowledge.

At least weekly updates should follow from now on.

Which features would you like to see implemented? Please send us your ideas via the comment form below.

Very pretty! Looking forward to it doing stuff:-)

Let me know if there are any little easy tasks I could help with - e.g. any particular bits of data conversion (I haven't a clue when it comes to PHP).

Hey, thanks for the offer, that's great. Help will definitely be welcome (and needed) once the infrastructure is workie.

Nifty. Can't wait to see the addition of more kitchen "gadgets" (i.e. articles).

For the SW Kitchen, feel free to add in anything I have at rdfabout.com.

Joshua, cool. I already planned to add pointers to your stuff, would you perhaps be interested in having a copy of e.g. the quick intro on rdfer.com directly (with full credits and links back to your site, of course)?

It seems to be living here. It sounds great for me. Question to Benjamin - Do you plan to add data previously published on SemanticWeb.org? Such tool annotations, RDF profiles URLs, etc. Note for Joshua, I have seen your rdf:about page for the first time and I was really interested in reading. I linked it on my blog.

Josef, yes, a subset of the previous sw.org site data will be made available here. A software list (tools, projects, services) will probably go live first. With regard to FOAF profiles, we may have to re-build the index from scratch as I don't want to get anyone upset by publishing their personal data without prior agreement. DERI is working on a new site as well and we'll try to keep the resource directories complementary, so I focus on stuff that won't be essential there.
